According to Anthony Di Marco of Daily Faceoff, the Philadelphia Flyers have expressed interest in Joseph Woll of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 27-year-old goaltender had a difficult 2025-26 campaign, posting 15 wins and 23 losses alongside a 3.34 goals-against average and an .898 save percentage. However, the numbers alone do not paint the full picture of Woll’s season.

Toronto struggled defensively for much of the year, frequently leaving Woll exposed due to inconsistent structure and defensive breakdowns. The Maple Leafs were often outshot and outplayed, yet Woll still managed to keep the team competitive on numerous occasions, stealing games outright or giving Toronto a chance to win despite being heavily outmatched.

The Flyers have been loosely connected to Woll throughout the season, and with Toronto expected to move one of either Anthony Stolarabout injuries and his unexplained absence at the start ofz or Woll this offseason, speculation surrounding the young netminder is beginning to intensify.

Despite concerns surrounding injuries and his unexplained absence to begin the season, Woll remains relatively young for a goaltender and still possesses significant upside. For Philadelphia, he could represent a strong long-term addition between the pipes and potentially form an intriguing tandem alongside Dan Vladar.

If the two sides were to seriously engage in trade discussions, it is reasonable to believe Toronto would target a high-impact forward in return. One name that immediately stands out is Owen Tippett, a speedy and skilled 27-year-old winger who could potentially complement Auston Matthews on Toronto’s top line. However, there is currently no indication that Tippett is being actively discussed in negotiations, and his strong playoff performance prior to his injury would make him a difficult piece for Philadelphia to move.

Another interesting name to monitor in any potential deal involving Woll is Tyson Foerster, who could fit Toronto’s desire to add more offensive skill and depth to its forward group heading into next season.
